Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Memory Hunt. By creating a Memory Hunt, making a purchase, uploading photos, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Memory Hunt.

Memory Hunt is a tool for collecting candid photos from a single event. A host creates a Memory Hunt, and guests scan a QR code, receive photo prompts, and upload pictures into the host's private gallery.

Each Memory Hunt includes guest photo prompts, an active QR code, printable signs and cards, a private host gallery, the ability to download all guest-submitted photos, and a 90-day storage window.

• Hosts sign in with passwordless email login through Clerk.
• You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure.
• You must provide accurate information and use the service only for lawful purposes.
• Guests do not create accounts; they join an event with a name or nickname.

A Memory Hunt is a one-time purchase starting at $29 per event, paid through Stripe Checkout. Pricing depends on the plan size you choose for your guest list. There is no subscription.

Optional add-ons are available, including digital scrapbooks and storage extensions. Prices for add-ons are shown at checkout. All payments are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.

Guests upload photos during the host's upload window. Each guest session may upload a limited number of photos per event.

Acceptable use

You agree not to upload content that is unlawful, infringing, harmful, harassing, or that you do not have the right to share. Hosts are responsible for the content collected at their event and may review, favorite, download, or remove any photo in their gallery.

We may remove content or suspend access if we believe these terms are being violated.

You and your guests retain ownership of the photos uploaded to your event. You grant Memory Hunt the limited rights needed to store, process, and display those photos so we can provide the service to you, such as showing them in your private gallery and producing any add-ons you purchase.

Separately from the rights above, a host may choose to give Memory Hunt permission to feature a small number of photos from their event in our marketing and on our social media channels. This permission is entirely optional, is turned off by default, and is never required to use Memory Hunt.

What you grant when you opt in

• A non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license for Memory Hunt to use, reproduce, edit for size or format, publish, and display selected photos from your event for promotion, advertising, and social media.
• We may feature photos on our website, social profiles, and in advertising or promotional materials about the Memory Hunt service.
• We will never sell your photos or license them to unrelated third parties.

Your responsibilities

By opting in, you confirm that you have obtained any necessary permission from the people who appear in the photos and from the photographers, so that the photos may be shared publicly in this way. You are responsible for the rights and consents associated with the photos collected at your event.

Withdrawing permission

You can withdraw this permission at any time from your event's settings. After you withdraw, we will stop featuring newly shared photos. Copies already published may take a reasonable amount of time to remove and may persist in cached or archived copies outside our control. We record the date and version of the permission text you agreed to so that both of us have a clear record of the consent given.

Each Memory Hunt includes a 90-day storage window. Hosts can purchase storage extensions to keep a gallery available longer. When a storage window ends, the associated photos may be deleted.

Please download anything you want to keep before your storage window closes. We are not responsible for content lost after a window expires.

Because a Memory Hunt becomes usable as soon as it is activated, purchases are generally non-refundable. If something goes wrong on our end or you believe there has been an error, contact us and we will work with you in good faith to make it right.

Memory Hunt is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will always be available.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Memory Hunt is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost content, arising from your use of the service.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Memory Hunt after an update means you accept the revised terms.
