Your event's photos are personal. This policy explains what Memory Hunt collects, how guest uploads stay private, and the choices you have over your data.

Guest uploads go privately to the host, not to other guests or the public.

We never sell your personal information to anyone.
You stay in control
Review, download, or remove photos from your gallery anytime.
Overview
Memory Hunt helps hosts collect candid photos from a single event. Guests scan a QR code, receive fun photo prompts, and upload pictures into the host's private gallery. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
By creating a Memory Hunt, uploading photos, or otherwise using the service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
Host information
- Account details from our login provider (Clerk), such as your email address.
- Event details you enter, like the event name, type, date, and optional estimated guest count.
- Payment confirmation from Stripe when you purchase a Memory Hunt or add-on. We never see or store your full card number.
Guest information
- A name or nickname the guest chooses when they join an event. Guests do not create accounts.
- Photos a guest uploads in response to prompts.
- A temporary browser session identifier used to keep an upload session active.
Automatic information
- Basic technical data such as device type and browser, used to keep the service secure and working.
- Cookies and similar storage used for login and guest sessions. See our Cookie Policy for details.
How We Use Information
- To create and run your Memory Hunt, including generating QR codes, prompts, and printable signs.
- To store guest-submitted photos in the host's private gallery and let the host review, favorite, download, or remove them.
- To process payments and provide receipts through Stripe.
- To send essential service messages, such as confirmations and storage reminders.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
Photos & Private Galleries
Guest uploads go privately to the host. By default, photos are visible only to the host in their gallery, not to other guests, and not publicly.
Hosts are responsible for the photos collected at their event and for sharing or downloading them appropriately. Guests should only upload photos they have the right to share.
A host may optionally give Memory Hunt permission to feature a small number of their event's photos in our marketing and on our social media. This is off by default and never required. We only feature photos from an event when its host has explicitly opted in, and the host can withdraw permission at any time from their event settings. When a host opts in, we record the date and the version of the permission text they agreed to. See the photo marketing section of our Terms of Service for the full terms.
Storage & Retention
Event photos are stored securely with Cloudflare R2. Each Memory Hunt includes a 90-day storage window. Hosts can purchase storage extensions to keep a gallery available longer.
When a storage window ends, the associated photos may be deleted. Hosts are encouraged to download anything they wish to keep before their window closes.
Your Choices & Rights
- Hosts can review, favorite, download, and remove photos in their gallery at any time.
- Hosts can request access to or deletion of their account data by contacting us.
- Guests can ask the host of their event to remove a photo they submitted.
Children's Privacy
Memory Hunt is intended for adults organizing and attending events. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Hosts are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions for photos taken at their events.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Memory Hunt after an update means you accept the revised policy.
